Friends Of The Fray
With a combined 18 years of experience working in the wedding industry, we can spot an outstanding wedding vendor from a mile away. And let’s be clear: we’re talking about wedding vendors who fit into the ethos of breaking free from convention and putting on parties that people want to talk about.
We're bringing the best possible wedding crew to make your day unique and special to you: photographers, florists, musicians, DJs, venues, caterers, and other suppliers offering a plethora of style and expertise all ready and waiting to make your day truly magical and down right fun!
We call them the Friends of the Fray.
Geez - skin, brows, swerve - if you’re looking for amazing amounts of any of these, The Lab. is your one stop destination for luxury and style in one.
The dress is paramount, the shoes are important, but the skin you have on your wedding day is crucial. Trust the pros at The Lab to bring your best face forward.
The people you give microphones to at weddings are make or breaks (promise). You should be just as particular about your celebrant as you are about shutting down your sister’s friends former housemate from giving a drunken, impromptu speech. A celebrant should be friendly, warm, funny but not just loving the sound of their own voice. If that’s what you’re after : Melabrant is your girl.
Wedding planning (albeit fun at times) can do a number on our nerves. That’s where the team at Here has us stress heads covered. They offer yoga and pilates classes as well as physio and talk therapy in their beautiful space in Downer. (pssst - watch this space for an extra special collab with Mrs Fray and here. for ultra-relaxing hens parties)
The artist formally known as Lady Larissa continues to serve up floral goodness to Canberra and its surrounds. Under her new brand Wiluna, Larissa can make all your floral dreams come true as well as helping host your hens, teaching workshops, and collaborating to bring floral goodness to any and all portions of your life.
Hair is such a telling accessory when it comes to bridal style, isn’t it? In seconds, when you see a wedding photo, you can immediately pin point about what time period that bridal do was rocking out a dance floor.
In an era of contemporary bridal that sees many tired trends die, it’s about time we make our hair modern too. That’s exactly where the expertise of a hair ninja like Kate Lily comes into play. Trust her wisdom and vision and you will do no wrong.

Nishi Gallery and Ovolo Nishi Hotel are incredible blank canvases just ready and waiting for you to put your own unique mark on as your wedding day venues. Host 150 of your nearest and dearest at a super chic cocktail affair at Nishi Gallery or a seated feasting banquet experience for 60 in the Mosaic Room catered by Monster Kitchen and Bar.
Good times are always guaranteed when Adam aka The Vintage Stylus is in his element spinning vinyl all night long. We were lucky enough to spend the day groovin’ away with Adam and his smooth line up of tunes at our Nishi Gallery pop up.
Born and bred Londoner Milton made the wise decision to move to Australia where he fell in love with weddings (and our Amy!). Milton’s relaxed documentary style, friendly nature, and focus on creating finely crafted images and beautiful albums has earned him a stellar reputation from over 300 fun loving couples.
Milton has won multiple awards for his work and is a former NSW President of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography.
Our friend Anna Turner is the talented beauty responsible for documenting the unveiling of Mrs Fray (as above). Not only is she a dab hand at capturing momentous celebrations, she is also a super nice human being to be around, the perfect buddy on your wedding day!
Julia and Kouyou of Motion Reel Films totally blew our minds when they produced not one but two amazing films of the set up and launch of Mrs Fray (check part one out above). If that’s what they can do with a shop opening, just imagine what they can do with a whole wedding day!
You might recognise Jess’ name from, oh, I don’t know, being on everything visual that we love going on in Canberra? Jessica owns The Beautique - making our faces and nails look constantly gorge- and she’s also behind so many of the looks you love seeing on styled shoots for many noteworthy publications around the ‘Berra.

The dream weavers a.k.a. Moxom + Whitney were the creative visionaries behind the amazing foliage installations at our Nishi Gallery pop up (as seen above). Let Lou Lou and her team loose on your wedding floral dreams and be prepared to lose your mind!
Canberra is bursting at the seams with creative talent and the guys at The Modern Creative are no exception. We don’t think they’ve ever seen such excited clients as us when they installed these beauties announcing our pop up residency at the Nishi Gallery. Design, print and signage are clearly their jams!
Two time Australian Wedding Photographer of the Year, one time International Wedding Photographer of the Year, full time father to Andi’s cute baby son, and all-around nice guy to be around. Photos are damn important, people. We can’t stress it enough. And Dan’s work transcends the trends for the years he’s been around, somehow giving your memories back to you in a fresh and inspiring way every. single. time.
It’s all in the family, yes. But our bias ends there, because he’s just the best.
Let’s be clear: this isn’t just a magazine, it's a new kind of bridal blog, magazine and directory all rolled into one!
Editor Sophie Lord realised there’s a hell of a lot of awesomely talented and insanely creative people out there working hard to make your wedding day every bit as unique, fun, and inspiring as you imagine it to be. Sophie wanted to connect all those wonderful wedding vendors with inspired brides and grooms-to-be and thus Hello May was born.

Mel and Amy are two Aussie lasses who grew up together, travelled abroad together, and experienced the struggles of finding a wedding venue together. They firmly believe that weddings should be about the people involved, not the traditions and spectacle that so many people sadly feel the pressure of.
WedShed is their way of helping like-minded and loved-up humans find awesome venues in which to say some nice words, share some rings, enjoy a glass of something delicious and have a boogie.
A shared belief in bringing people together for a good time and offering a unique experience that's accessible to all lead us to discover our friends at Blackhearts & Sparrows. The general concept behind their gate series wines (our faves) was to source wines that they believe deliver exceptional everyday drinking at everyday prices.
We highly recommend The Blackhearts & Sparrows Gate Series Sparkling, NV: A nice savoury style with white stone fruit, pear, citrus pith, some light dough notes & quite a fine mouthfeel. Sound delicious to you? We certainly think so that’s why it will also be offer during your appointment with us at Mrs Fray. Or pick up a few for home at their Braddon outpost, Shop 15, 27 Lonsdale St, Braddon 2612 ACT.
This ain’t Lauren’s first rodeo when it comes to rocking florals at weddings in non-traditional styles. She’s been smashing through the Canberra scene for many years now, never failing to ‘wow’ us with her jaw-dropping arbors and wedding accents.
It’s not her style to push you into something you don’t want or beat traditions to death long after they’re due for a revamp. You can trust that what Lauren brings to the table will be beautiful, elegant, and ahead of its time.
How do I love thee, Lauren Campbell? Let me count the ways.
Lauren’s work is just like Lauren. Beautiful, contemporary, and understated. Lauren is the presence you want on your wedding day, when you want your day’s memories captured without having a loud photographer all up in your grill, Lauren is your girl. Her work speaks for itself and you’ll walk away with photos you love and a new favourite human, to boot. We can’t speak highly enough about the beautiful woman she is.
In an age where print seems sometimes to be fading away with the evolution of media, it’s publications like Together Journal that make the paper more than worth paying for. The team at Together work hard to curate a special selection of wedding ideas, tips & tricks, real parties, and all the other goodness that you actually want to see when you’re plotting your own big day.
Take out all the extra nonsense, and have a browse of specifically and specially showcased weddings from all across the world. Sit back, have a champs, have a read.
